Job Overview:

The Structural CAD Drafter is responsible for the creation of structural drawings.  The candidate will operate the CAD system and produce clear and technically accurate drawings based on design specifications and established company presentation. Specifically, we are seeking someone who can do the following:


Job Description:
Create, modify, manage and coordinate Structural Model including setting up views, sheets, worksets, etc.  Support the Structural Engineer to produced engineering drawings from red-line mark-ups, existing drawings,  field notes, etc.
Responsibilities:

  • Work with CAD systems to create and modify structural drawings.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and prepare drawings.
  • Advanced knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction techniques, construction documents and CAD concepts.  General knowledge of building code.
  • Advanced CAD drafting skills required.  Proficiency inf Revit preferred.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced.
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills and acute attention to details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.


Education and Experience: 
AutoCAD proficiency. 
Prefer an AS/AA in CAD.

The Structural Engineer must have excellent leadership skills, must be well-organized and be able to work in a team environment and be able to communicate clearly and concisely with clients and interoffice team. The successful candidate will either have a track record of project management or is interested in growing into that role.

Job Description:

This position requires proficiency with structural design software and an ability to learn additional programs as required. Project management experience as it relates to cost and schedule analysis is preferred. Must be self motivated with the ability to adapt to multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Growth potential is significant and will be based upon the candidate's experience, abilities and ambition.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of 3D models and 2D drawings with other trades and design firms.
  • Efficient management of electronic job files from other design firms.
  • Ability to efficiently manage design changes with short notice.
  • Reading and interpreting Construction Documents.
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills and acute attention to detail.

Education and Experience: Must possess structural engineering and inspection experience - a minimum of 2 years required. Experience in Structural or Architectural drafting. Degree in Engineering - professional license preferred. Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office and Bluebeam.
